Regarding tag assignment the tags need to be handled as bookmarks. To omit this weakness a tag needs to be able other tag or tags assigned get assigned to. Folders (directories) do not show this weakness.
Structures built from tags can evaluate in one dimension only. Anyhow, tags as implemented currently allow creation of flat structure only. Tags are great because one can assign an item to more than one categories. Enable the tag other tag/tags to get assigned to Making it a pain to update and keep organized. Not having this feature creates a lot of unneeded file size and also has a negative performance impact on the browser due to the fact that currently you have to have two exact copies of a folder in two locations. Reason: This will allow you to update your bookmarks from a single location, even though you have the Category / Folder in your Main Bookmarks folder as well as your Bookmarks Toolbar(For Quick Access).
